Hey Andy, I'm not sure this is right...as my cluster of tiles is yellow and red...and last I checked, I still had the hive tile...but its a different color now...did someone do like a ninja-strike and steal it away without challenging me for it?

Dave,
I checked the map and the flags are the same as the digital map. Did I get the colors wrong? Are you blue and orange and not red and yellow? I might have the Daves mixed up.

Nope, you got it right. I was mistaken, I never had a hive tile....I picked it for Mike when we were populating the map...and Tyson G wanted to challenge me to take a hive tile...thinking I was the 'Dave' that had a hive tile....which in-turn, confused me....I am yellowish-orange and red.

Won this round against Mike and his Dark Angels. It was a good game ... and hard fought.

Cheers,

Goodman

Battle type: 1500 point 40K game
Setup/objective: Dawn of War, Capture and control

The Brown Bolters vs. The Imperial Fists, Fifth Company
( Thomas vs. Robert )

The game got off to a rocky start as we both agreed that Dawn of War was our least favorite style of game set up. The game got increasingly better from there as the forces of Space Marines clashed over the two objectives; a man with a briefcase and a manhole cover. Both were desperately needed as the technology for them had long since been lost to the warp. This warranted the slaughter of many brave space marines with their hundreds of years of collected experience, massively rare suits of power armor, and the lives of two ancient dreadnoughts.

Honestly, the battle was VERY hard fought. Lascannons seemed to have the hardest time finding their targets on both sides. An epic duel between opposing sergeants lasted from turn 3 and never resolved as the fighting drew to a close (I wish I had taken a picture of it, they were standing in a graveyard toe to toe for the longest time, the last remains of their squads lying dead all around them). Strong winds kept blowing all scatter shots everywhere but where they were aimed at. Seldom have I had more fun with such a close result. In fact, one dangerous terrain check from a gun-less Whirlwind (it got immobilized in the terrain) that could have pushed my marines off one objective made the difference.

End result: Victory to the Imperial Fists (Robert Chesebrough) by holding one objective and contesting the other.

Sounds like an epic battle! What was in the briefcase?

No idea, we were only interested in acquiring the old earth technology. It could have been grocery coupons for all we could care. Actually, old earth coupons would have been worth a purge of the system to get ahold of. Relics ftw.
